Milena Nadine Swimming Pool

via ferrata of Gran Sasso d'

Subject: Maintenance Via ferrata Corno Piccolo and Corno Grande.

On 16/07/2009 I sent a note saying "informal" by fax to the President of CAI Abruzzo Eugenio Di Marzio where did this state of danger of the estates of the via ferrata PP Ventricina the Little Horn.

I was out to the President of March during an outing with some customers, one of the bound iron is broken. Fortunately without consequences for the boys, all equipped with harnesses and lanyards.

No response and no comment.

point out that the National Park Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga by the Board of Directors No 3 of 11 funded in March 1997 recover some via ferrata and climbing routes that exist between the Gran Sasso Horn Little Big Horn and the amount of Euro 74,886.25.

The work was entrusted to the Soc. Planet Mountain Pietracamela the light and on the basis of the draft prepared by the CAI of Teramo.

Initially the railway was restored Ventricina, then the way the Danes, then the railway route and then the Ricci 4, which goes by the Saxon bivouac A. Bafile.

soon open to the public of the various estates of the via ferrata Ventricina ropes broke and for some years there was no maintenance. After that I signaled to the President of the Delegation of Abruzzo CAI (I think it was Philip Di Donato) the dangers of these particular anchors.

Ten years have passed with no response, no comment, and I believe no intervention.

I read the newspaper instead of 23:07:09 and then the Centre on the site of the CAI of Teramo some utterances of the President of CAI Luigi De Angelis.

in the press release and on the website reads "The case, from an initial assessment, is due to the excessive weight of the snow."

The weight of snow rests purely on the strings which in turn dump the burden on systems leak.

At this point I wonder, because in the last 40 years have seen the Gran Sasso mainly replace steel cables and terminal box and seals? And especially since a large number of seals are torn on vertical lines of those railways where we know that physics does not allow heavy accumulations of snow?

Again: The President of Cai di Teramo discouraged visitors to travel these routes even if provided with adequate equipment, making further advised that as of now we accept no responsibility for any damage to persons or property.

E 'is shocking that the organs of the CAI, instead of climbing routes to provide for the maintenance of it "inadvisable" to use, and they think they address their possible culpable inaction simply "declining any responsibility."

But it is not: the Delegation of Abruzzo CAI receives annually for the various activities of the association, including the amounts allocated to the maintenance and marking of paths, and tomorrow, in the unlikely event of an accident, should justify, difficult to believe, that it had provided for the maintenance duty while in the full knowledge of a dangerous situation.

conclude by inviting the CAI, the Park Authority and the Municipality of Pietracamela, each pertaining to its competence and to provide urgently to replace all the anchors installed via ferrata Danes, Ventricina and Ricci.

Finally I would like to reflect on the fact that the anchoring systems of the path 4, that which leads to the bivouac by Sassone Bafile, replaced by more than one year but before the last "season is particularly rich in rainfall, which has weighed considerably on sealing systems are perfectly intact and appear to be made from a first analysis with a different material or with a different method of working.

Very cordially
